Introducing MV George II, the first steam-to-LNG conversion in the world.
Pasha Hawaii proudly welcomes the newly repowered container ship
MV George II to its fleet in the Hawaii/Mainland trade lane. MV
George II joins MV George III and MV Janet Marie, operating on liquefied
natural gas (LNG) from day one in service.
LNG-powered ships significantly reduce emissions compared to diesel,
making a positive impact on our port communities. Particulate matter, the
fine black dust that’s prevalent in port neighborhoods, is 99.9% eliminated
as is sulfur, which when mixed with moisture in the air creates sulfuric acid
resulting in acidic dew and acid rain. Operating vessels on LNG also
results in a 90% reduction in NOx and a 25% reduction in CO2.

The MV Spirit and Reliance were first Sealand vessels, then CSX, and Horizon Lines. Now they’re with Pasha Sunrise, aka Pasha Hawaii.
The conversion was done in China.
It’s either the Reliance or the Spirit after conversion.
Is that a C8? When I was at Maine Maritime Academy I spent the summer of 2009 aboard the Steamship Maui with Matson Lines, and they were always talking about Matson's old C8s that had started as LASH but were converted to containers. I can't remember the names of those ships anymore.
